"THE PLACE WHERE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE MEETS HOLISTIC HEALING"

We believe our unique recipe speaks volumes about our ethos. We've walked the walk and boast a team with decades of combined experience. Combining guided adventure activities that reconnect you to your body and the natural world, inside our digital detox wrapper, whilst supported on the holistic front by regular yoga, meditation, storytelling, sound healing and massage is the perfect storm when it comes to cultivating that feel good factor. Our teams are specifically curated with this in mind and our yoga practitioners, classically trained chefs and adventure guides that have traveled the globe, make this unique experience a reality.

Accommodation

Our shared luxurious glamping tents are a home away from home. The huge bell tents are kitted out with all the creature comforts to make your stay in the mountains a super comfortable one. These tents are designed for two people sharing. If you'd like your own private tent please request one. However, we do find long lasting friendships formed when sharing a bell tent with another like minded soul on our retreats.

Food

We are as much what we eat as we are what we think. Feeding our minds and bodies with nutritional fuel is imperative when creating a
balanced, harmonious system. Our meal plan has been specifically curated and designed to add the energy required to undertake the adventure elements of the retreat whilst being light on the system and our planet. Our Chef sources quality local ingredients with a strong emphasis on a plant based diet. Expect a healthy, hearty, veggie driven experience sourced from locations close to home as we emphasize a low carbon footprint on the retreat.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Opening circle and fireside introduction

Day 1 is a travel day and with 200 km covered travelling into the Cederberg Mountains from Cape Town we arrive to be met with a relaxing welcome drink, a light introductory chat around the fire and a beautiful meal served by our private chef.

Day 2 - Rolling out

We start our day with a sunrise yoga session led by our in-house facilitator. Our gentle yoga sessions are often rounded off by a beautiful meditation as we watch the sun break over the crest of the surrounding mountains. Resetting our circadian rhythm and falling back in-line with the cycles of nature is a big part of what we are trying to achieve on our programme, and that starts daily at sunrise.

After a gorgeous breakfast served by our private chef we have a relaxing morning in camp landing after the previous travel day. Our in-house massage therapist is on hand to help you unwind and land gently into the space.

After lunch we head off for our 35 km gravel bicycle ride with support vehicle and refreshments in tow. This wonderful ride through the mountains and down the beautiful Uitkyk pass will lead you back into camp at sunset. We have a support vehicle on hand at all times if you're a first time rider and need some time out of the saddle. This ride caters to all fitness levels.

Dinner and fireside chat after our ride wraps up the day.

Day 3 - Exploring ancient rock art & indigenous Khoisan storytelling

Our day starts with our usual guided sunrise yoga session and appreciation meditation followed by breakfast. We head out for a day
of light adventure as we take a gentle 5 hour (round trip) hike up stream to a hidden swimming hole tucked away in a secret valley. After a swim in these healing waters and a packed lunch we return down stream.

The second half our day focuses on traditional storytelling and exploring ancient indigenous rock art which covers the walls of a shallow cave. This tribal experience with singing and drumming will transport you back to a time when the Khoisan people roamed these lands.

We return to basecamp for sunset dinner and a night of connecting around the fire.

Day 4 - Iconic Wolfberg Arch overnight hike & star bathing

Daily sunrise yoga and meditations are followed by a beautiful breakfast. We have a gentle morning in camp where clients opt for massages from our in-house masseuse or read a book by a swimming hole in the sun.

We are treated to a soothing sound journey in camp as we are transported by a myriad of healing sounds played on various instruments by one of our healers.

We pack our backpacks with our overnight supplies and adventure tents in preparation for a departure after lunch. Many of our clients favourite day on the itinerary as we head up the mountain for our overnight hike.

This 5 hour (one way) hike through the iconic Wolfberg Cracks and to the base of the Wolfberg Arch rock formation where we set up camp for the night with our adventure tents.

We spend the night star bathing and counting shooting stars in one of Africa's best night skies. We say it's not a matter of whether you'll spot a shooting star, its how many!

Day 5 - Hidden mountain pools

We rise to a sunrise meditation and adventure breakfast before making our way back down the mountain towards a beautiful hidden swimming hole at the base of the trail.

We spend the afternoon swimming in these pristine healing mountain waters and lying on warm rocks in the sun as we digest our overnight hike and enjoy lunch.

Dinner and fireside chats wrap up the evening.

Day 6 - Ice bath Friday

Our final yoga session and breakfast is followed by a guided ice bath experience which spikes the dopamine levels and leaves you feeling on top of the world. This immune boosting experience will leave you feeling revitalised after a week in the mountains building new friendships and skills making you ready to head back to your busy life armed a grounded and rejuvenated approach

The retreat wraps around 11/12 on day six and our shuttle departs for the three hour drive back to Cape Town.

If you're coming in from abroad, please feel free to reach out for information and tips on how to make the most of your free time in Cape Town after the retreat. We are locals and know all the best spots.
